HOW TO SAVE MONEY FOR YOUR NEXT VACATION
Summer is almost over in most places and it will soon be a case of back to work or back to school as the case may be. So why don’t we start now and plan for the next vacation perhaps winter vacation or even for the next summer vacation?
Savings, in my opinion, is an act cultivated over time. It is not that easy for most people especially now that spending has gotten easier over time, E-shopping, debit cards and many other ways that most times hinder our plans.
HOW TO SAVE MONEY FOR TRAVEL
I can testify to the fact that If one doesn’t plan, you plan to fail. But planning goes beyond just taking notes and aspiring to have your feet buried in sand in say Dubai or Europe.
Let me share some tips on how to save money for travel. I can already see myself sipping on Long Island while I dance to some good music with my darling husband. I know you might be thinking about what could be done to save up money for your next trip but you will be shocked to know that little tweaks in your lifestyle could make all the difference.
Some of the tips I will be sharing I have also practised and it truly helped.
PACK YOUR OWN LUNCH
Once you have decided to embark on this plan. You could start by packing your own lunch to school or to work as the case may be. You could buy lunch items with coupons as well depending on where you shop. Your customer reward cards could also save you some money. If you think you don’t spend much on your lunch, try calculating how much you spend on Lunch alone.
SHOP FROM SALES ITEMS
This point is a brainer! Once the season sales begin, go and pick the essential things you need to slay on your next vacation. Some shops do promos “Buy one and get one free”, surf the web to know where to get the best deals. I have previously mentioned coupons and customer loyalty cards they always come I handy.
MAKE YOUR OWN COFFEE
It is that simple, for coffee addicts, you could get yourself a fancy coffee mug that is easy to travel with and help yourself to some coffee on the go. Then, drop the money you were supposed to spend in your change jar.
SELL UNWANTED CLUTTER
I recently de-cluttered my wardrobe and I had some success selling some of my clothes that I have outgrown. There are a plethora of online mediums that one could use to sell off their unwanted clutter such as Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram, we chat, shopping events etc. Money made from there could be used to purchase cheap flights to Dubai. Just remember to dry clean them if they are clothes.
SET MONTHLY BUDGETS AND OPEN A SAVINGS ACCOUNT
I joined some monthly contribution forums that have helped me save up money this could be one angle. You can give your bank a standing order to deduct a certain amount and pay into your savings account.
RESEARCH YOUR DESTINATION
I bet you are not the first to visit that dream place for your next trip. You could do some research, just to know everything a traveller needs to know about a destination, it could be survival language tips, best places to shop, how to haggle, best clubs or joints. These are things that may come in handy on your next trip. If it’s a place where you need inter-state flight routes you could get all necessary resources beforehand.
BOOK TICKETS AHEAD OF TIME
Booking your tickets about 4 to 5 months in advance could help you land cheap flights. Who doesn’t want to fly with more money in his or her pocket? You could use that to take care of your hotel bills, taxis etc.
CHOOSE A CREDIT CARD WITH CASH BACKS OR TRAVEL REWARDS
It’s always soothing to know that you can make some money back while you spend. So why don’t you take a trip to your bank to find out which cash back or travel rewards they have in stock for you?
So I hope these pointers would help you make that trip and tag me on your Instagram worthy pictures.
