INTERNATIONAL STYLE FESTIVAL #ROAD TO ISF
I haven’t been here for quite some time and I honestly missed writing but I needed to get my head in the right place, but am not through with that yet. I am still on a partial break, no schedules, no fussing and pressurizing myself. I hope you’d understand though.
It’s my blog anniversary this month. I published my first Mom lifestyle post on the 19th of July 2017. Hmmm, how time flies. I may not have accomplished all I planned to accomplish but I have at least moved a few steps from where I was when I started and I am thankful for that.
One might beat him or herself up for not accomplishing what they set out to accomplish but as a full-time Mom and a part-time blogger. I think I am happy with where I’m at. It’s quite slow but I will get thee when the time is right.
So, let’s dive into the double bill event review.
I will be sharing two pre-events to the International style festival (ISF) set to hold 3rd-4th August 2018 at L.A. Kings Dome 31 Stadium Road, Port Harcourt.
Fashion illustration held at Coscharis Motors Limited
The first event was the Fashion illustration held at Coscharis Motors Limited, Port Harcourt on the 22nd of June 2018. This day started on a good note as the Nigerian match went so well so we were all on high spirit when the short fashion illustration started. I met of so many fashion people in Port Harcourt and I had a plus one my dear son Ivan. He definitely loved all the cars. Scroll down for more pictures of his posing with cars.
The illustration was about fashion and cars how they work with each other. Short speeches describing the correlation between their designs and cars were presented by Jazz Effect, House of BO and Zhalima.
I also had an interview with the Branch Manager Mr Udo Onwere.
CAN WE MEET YOU, SIR?
I am Udo Onwere the Branch Manager of Coscharis motors Port Harcourt.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO PARTNER WITH ISF?
The brand is a good brand and we thought that if we have our cars in the background of the event, people will pick an interest and patronize us. The ISF brand is also catchy in terms of fashion and that is what people are interested in. So we decided to support them.
WOULD YOU SAY PORT HARCOURT PEOPLE LOVE CARS?
Port Harcourt people love cars and why not the premium brands which we carry such as ford, BMW, Jaguar, etc. We also partnered with banks such as Access Bank to make payment easier. You can spread your payment over 48 months and we are currently running a 20% discount on all cars. Also, we don’t only sell cars we also maintain them; we sell parts and lubricants for your cars. With warranty, you just drive in and have your car served.
YOU EARLIER UNVEILED A NEW JAGUAR, WHAT ARE THE SPECS THAT WOULD MAKE SOMEONE PURCHASE IT?
It is a Jaguar F Pace. The specs are numerous but I cannot use words to express the experience that one could get from that car. You actually have to get into the car and see for yourself. The gear is now a knob instead of the usual gear stick. It has an array of functions on the dashboard, T.V. behind for the passengers to enjoy. You can even connect your DSTV to the T.V. behind the front seats… I mean what more could one ask for, but I just mentioned a few.
THANK YOU SO MUCH, SIR. I AM REALLY GRATEFUL FOR YOUR TIME. DO HAVE A NICE DAY SIR.

HAIRVEN MEET x GREET
This event held on the 30th of June 2018 at 37 Onne Road, GRA Phase 2 Port Harcourt. This is one event that I truly enjoyed. It was a meet and greet, very intimate and best believe I met my T.V. Boyfriend Denrele Edun. His palms are so soft I must tell you and as crazy as he seems on T.V. he is a nice soul. Hirogama the CEO of Hairven a hair bar that caters to processed an unprocessed hair. They also have a spa attached to the Hairbar named Reiki Spa for ultimate experience, relaxation and rejuvenation of the body and mind. She was so nice and also obliged us an interview. But before for that, we had a swell time. Mixers and shakers keep the cocktails flowing and cinnamon and sauces kept rolling the small chops. Music was subtle and inspiring, maybe something might be cooking up soon. I will not like to let the cat out of the bag. So stay tuned!
We also had a tour of the Reiki spa, the ambience was heavenly. The relaxation room had a variety of tea flavours, and a suiting music to make you feel relaxed. From there we proceeded to the massage rooms, the rooms were private and which were neatly arranged. I wanted a session so bad but… anyways I am looking forward to a Mom’s spa day, maybe a discounted session who knows? I will have to place a call first *smiles
Also attached to this awesome place is an event space for that can take up to 70 people. This is suitable for seminars, training, birthday parties, bridal/baby showers. They also offer other packages you can find out more by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
This interview was conducted by Precious of thatstylishmedic and transcribed by me.
PRECIOUS: GOOD EVENING
IRO: Good evening
PRECIOUS: so can you like give me a brief introduction of yourself?
IRO: okay… My name is Irogama Uboferebo. I own and run the Hairven hair care company. We are a company that manufacture products, hair care products and we also own a chain of salons. We have recently added a spa to our list of offerings.
PRECIOUS: OKAY THANK YOU.
I wrote my business plan and tried to source for funds and the money I had was not sufficient to execute the business fully. Instead of being disappointed and giving up, I started buying and selling hair and this was in 2009 when the hair business was emerging in Nigeria. So I was one of the pioneer hair sellers at that time and I made a lot of money. Now while I was selling hair most of my customers started complaining because they had no products to cater to the hair extensions that they have been buying from me. And nothing was available; I started off importing products, John Freda specifically, their shampoos, conditioners and serum for them.
PRECIOUS: Exclaiming … Oh! Nice
IRO: Then the idea of manufacturing my own products came up and I started manufacturing and I opened a salon three years after.
PRECIOUS: WITHIN THIS PERIOD HOW HAS IT BEEN … YOU’RE UPCOMING AND THE REST?
IRO: Well definitely … I mean with every business as an entrepreneur you will definitely face the highs and the lows. I think what is important is your ability to mitigate the lows such that it doesn’t impact too much on the advantages of the business. So moving to Port Harcourt and running my business here, a lot of people were very negative because they felt its Port Harcourt. I was going to deal with the mindset that Port Harcourt people don’t pay but I believed very strongly that there are people in this town like me, who would value quality… right who would be willing to pay money if they felt they were getting value for that money. So setting up a place like this… I invested a lot of money here but I know from customer turn over, I know it’s because they are glad. That means Port Harcourt people do pay, Port Harcourt people do appreciate quality if it is made available to them sustainably which is what we are trying to do here.
PRECIOUS: NICE… SO, WHAT ARE YOUR SERVICES LIKE, YOUR PRICE RANGE?
IRO: For hair, for example, we fix hair from 4000NGN depending on what you want to do. Nails start at 2500NGN then for the Spa, our massage and facials start at 12000NGN. Then we offer Moroccan Hammam treatment which starts at 25000NGN, for the body scrub treatment it starts at 15000NGN. So we try to be as reasonable as possible but one thing that is guaranteed is that when you come in you will certainly enjoy the professionalism that we offer.
PRECIOUS: DO YOU ALSO DEAL WITH NATURALISTAS?
IRO: Yes we do. We don’t discriminate. For example, I am relaxed and I will never go natural because I don’t have an interest in it but I know it is possible to have healthy long relaxed hair, so I preach as long as you didn’t buy the hair it’s your hair. You are Natural, whether you choose to perm it or you choose to keep it unprocessed it’s still natural hair that needs to be catered to and needs to be cared for. Here we attend to everybody, don’t discriminate… our slogan is “Hair Care first and the Hairstyle next”. So that is actually our mission.
PRECIOUS: SO YOU HAVE PRODUCTS FOR THEM TOO?
IRO: Yes, we have products them. So we are currently partnering with a company in Lagos, called Afroventures because her products are fantastic. She has so many great reviews and I am personally a testament of the effect of her products and that is what we use for natural hair. And when I say natural hair I don’t mean only women with unprocessed hair, I mean if you are taking care of your relaxed hair that’s what we are using on you because its good hair food for the hair you didn’t buy which your natural hair.
PRECIOUS: SO YOU HAVE FOR GUYS TOO?
Yea, I can see that you can be a good beneficiary of our products.
P: CHUCKLES… LASTLY, WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE FOR YOUR BRAND?
IRO: Well, first of all, we are planning to extend this building to the empty compound next door; we actually have very big plans to break down this wall. We also have someone that is interested in taking us to Calabar, someone that is interested in our brand. More like franchising our brand in Calabar and we are hoping we can consummate that before the end of the year. And possibly take advantage of the Christmas period to launch that branch. So for me in the nearest future am seeing expansion and growth opportunities that I will definitely seize and because I believe very strongly that we have something to offer to customers and people who encounter our brand we will definitely position ourselves to do that.
PRECIOUS: ALRIGHT … THANK YOU VERY MUCH
IRO: Thank you.
I hope you had fun reading this post. I hope I can come up with another post soon enough but in the meantime be nice to one another and remember to wish me a happy birthday on the 18th of July. Just say a prayer for me that’s more than enough for me.
Until next time… keep sharing, liking and please subscribe.
