CREATING INSTA-WORTHY PICTURES WITH YOUR PHONE
Creating Instagram worthy pictures can be a big deal especially for those that are concerned about aesthetics. I was a novice in this craft but I think I am beginning to get a hang of it gradually. So let me show you how I edit my picture on Instagram basically.
Some people have a ton of apps that they use such as VSCO, Avairy, Face tune etc. I tried almost all but to be very honest with you I don’t believe in over processing pictures. It’s either I desaturate, or saturate, or have it in black and with a little purple undertone. Yes, purple, I love purple.
I would be sharing how I edit my pictures on Instagram and post in a few seconds. I know that seems difficult but you know I have your back always.
So to create Insta-worthy pictures first, you have to make sure your camera lens is clean. depending on the mood or feel you intend to achieve with this picture, you might need more lighting or less lighting.
Secondly, arrange your composition. It might be a flatlay or just an image of some products or activity.
So for this insta-worthy tutorial, I am trying to capture a composition I made for one of my tutorials. This was a picture in picture idea.
Mind you, your composition can be anything at all. Let’s move on …
This is me choosing this image on the Instagram app…
I know you would be expecting me to choose a filter but I will not, instead I click on edit. I don’t really use any filter asides the black and white filters which I can’t remember their names at this moment…
… Here I adjust the brightness of the picture to 36 depending on how much light was available while I was taking the picture.
I desaturate the picture. I like that faded look in my pictures. As much as I live for colour, I could be a minimalist at heart. So, I take it to -31 well this totally depends on the picture that I want to post.
Sometimes the shadows a lost amidst the brightness and desaturation so you can add some deep and definition with the shadows option or you can reduce it as the case may be.
Since I am on a themed Instagram feed journey, which I am still yet to figure out. I use the purple highlights. Yea, I love purple. This gives my pictures a gloomy look but I regulate how much purple cast that I want.
Now, we are ready to post this image… You can now sort out your caption, your tagging, you hashtagging, location and sharing at this point but here is the trick.
Go back till you meet the message in the picture below ” if you go back now, all image edits will be discarded” Kindly chose the save as draft option. Then exit the app completely…
Sometimes I prep a lot of images like this and save as drafts than post when I want to.
You can see the image on your drafts when you reopen the Instagram app… Chose the image in your drafts and proceed like you would as usual and click send immediately.
You can see This picture was posted in 29seconds after all that in-house editing. You could be faster than 29 seconds if you have sort out your captions earlier.
I hope you have learnt one or two things from this post. Kindly let me know what you think in the comments section, like, share and subscribe as well.
Thank you so much!
