Today is just weird for me. I am filled with mixed emotions on what to write about. I usually write posts and save to drafts but recently I have noticed that I let myself get inspired by things happening around me.
I am just writing this post like 30 minutes before I hit Publish, and I don’t even know what I want to write about. Anyway, let me just keep typing while my son keeps arranging my living room #rollseyes
Okay finally I penned down all the light bulbs in my head and I have decided to talk about what blogging has taught me. Yeah, I have been blogging for quite a while but I have made numerous mistakes and probably still making more mistakes. But on STYLEBEAT BY ZOBAM my first post was published on the 19th of July 2017.
That is like four months of brainstorming and churning out some content. WHOOP! WHOOP! Well, I am proud of me but I still have a long way to grow.
So here are some tips I would say I have learnt so far . . .
You can never know enough. You have to read and surf at all times to know what is going on especially in the blogosphere because things are always changing. SEO , ALT and a lot of things that I am yet to figure out … Gosh!
- DON’T COPY
So, a fellow blogger found out another blogger copied and posted her blog without changing a thing. The copier posted everything down to her pictures and intro. What a shameful thing to do. Stay original, if you cannot come up with a post just let it be till inspiration strikes. This does not mean you cannot be inspired by another blogger’s blog post.
- BE TRUE TO YOURSELF
Decide on what you want your blog to be about. Why did you start your blog? Who are you? What are you passionate about? These are questions I constantly ask myself to keep myself in check especially when I feel i am getting lost or I am swaying to trends especially on social media.
- ASK QUESTIONS
Don’t be ashamed, always ask questions when you don’t know. Learn from others, you might just avoid the mistakes they made as well. Be eager to learn and unlearn as well.
- JOIN A BLOGGER COMMUNITY
Join the right gang and I bet you you will see your craft improve as time goes on. This helped my confidence level. I started taking myself much more serious and who gives the best feedback if not same people in the same world as you . Having a blogger squad might also help you with taking pictures or editing tips and the list goes on and on…
These are the things I can recall now. I may have to do and update as time goes on 🙂
So until next time keep showing me love, keep sharing and commenting too
Much Love from me to you ♥
