They say Diamonds are forever but pearls can still do the magic…
currently listening to diamonds are forever by John Barry
Hmmm … I went to see a friend that I have missed his craziness for sometime and behold this burgundy face cape spoke to me saying ” I need a new owner, take me! Please” LOL
Trust your girl, I went into another mood immediately to obtain the cap. It was quite difficult for him to let go because it was his favorite cap but who cares. I had to have the cap and he is a kind soul.
I hope you like what I have done with it …
Best believe I am not going to leave you high and dry. I’ve got your back on this one. I will show you how to make yours. You can easily upscale your trousers, caps , turbans, Ashoke, shirts , jean jackets , skirts and lots more. Your options are endless. All you have to do is …
- Own a hand sewing needle
- A matching thread ( I like to match the thread to the main fabric or base and not the pearls)
- A pair of scissors
- A string of pearls ( a decent quality for durability)
- A chalk for marking
- A plain face cap of your choice
By now you must have threaded your hand sewing needle. Then use a piece of chalk to make some markings so as to see how the pearl placement would look like and also it will serve as a guide while you sew.
This is what your cap should look like after sewing. Mind you, its not a must to follow the markings you made earlier. If you look closely you would see that I didn’t use most of mine because I changed my mind but be careful to space them properly and evenly.
I had to show you my whole ensemble, the whole slay-mama vibe that I had at the Port Harcourt International Food Festival. You can check out the post here .
The polo is a DIY as well. If you want me too show you how to do such, just drop a comment in the comment section below.
What do you think about the face cap upscale? is it a YAY! or a NAY! let’s talk in the comment section.
